Self-pay assessments provide a way to access Autism and ADHD assessments privately, without relying on NHS referral routes or local commissioning arrangements.

At Mind Professionals Neurodevelopmental Service, self-pay assessments follow the same recognised clinical standards used in NHS pathways and are delivered by appropriately qualified clinicians.

What the fee includes

Our assessment fees typically include:

  • Pre-assessment screening and information gathering
  • Review of background history and questionnaires
  • Clinical assessment appointments
  • Diagnostic decision-making in line with NICE guidance and recognised diagnostic criteria
  • A detailed written diagnostic report
  • Explanation of the assessment outcome and recommended next steps

For children and young people, information may also be gathered from parents or carers and educational settings where appropriate.


Payment information

Self-pay assessments are privately funded and are not covered by NHS services.

Payment arrangements and any required deposit will be explained when your assessment is booked.

Booking a self-pay assessment

If you would like to arrange a self-pay assessment, the process usually involves the following steps:

  1. Initial enquiry
    Contact our team or complete the pre-assessment form so we can understand your situation and confirm the most appropriate assessment.
  2. Pre-assessment screening
    You may be asked to complete screening questionnaires and provide background information.
  3. Booking your assessment
    Once the assessment type is confirmed, we will offer the earliest available appointment and provide information about payment and preparation.
  4. Assessment and report
    Your clinician will complete the assessment and provide a written report explaining the outcome and recommendations.
